Children
Sunday Morning
During the 8:00 a.m. service children are dismissed from the sanctuary for Sunday School following the Unison Prayer. They are returned to the Sanctuary during the final hymn.
Age-level Sunday School classes meet at 9:30-10:30. Children are escorted to appropriate rooms. Parents are asked to meet children at these rooms following the service. Parents may attend worship, an adult Sunday School class, or participate in other activities offered at the church. Children whose parents attend worship and an adult Sunday School class can participate in a different activity each Sunday School hour they attend.
Wednesday Evening
On Wednesday Evening our Seekers in Sneakers program begins with a catered meal at 6:00-6:20PM. A donation toward the cost of the meal is appreciated.
At 6:30PM, all activities for children and youth begin, concluding at 7:45PM.
Children aged 2-4 attend Wednesday's Children. Craft, stories, play, and music help develop preschool skills. Children are released to parents at 7:45 from Room B05.
Children aged 4 through 2nd grade choose two 30-minute activities--Spanish, Easy Recipes, or Taekwondo. Children are released to parents at 7:45 from Room B05.
The 3rd and 4th grade children are a part of Jesus' All-Stars, and participate in a variety of age appropriate activities in Room 210.
Christian Cadets for 5th and 6th grade youth participate in a variety of activities designed for preteens to grow in fellowship and faith.
Summer
Vacation Bible School is held on five consecutive Wednesdays beginning after the conclusion of the school year for children ages 2 through grade 6. Doors open at 7:30AM and breakfast is served. From 9-11:30AM children rotate between Bible based classes including art, music, recreation, and storytime. Children ages 2-4 must be picked up at 11:30AM. Children who will be attending Kindergarten - 6th grade in the fall are served lunch and bused to an afternoon activity off-site. Activities have included the Henry Doorly Zoo, parks, museums, and historic locations. Children return to the church by 4:30PM for afternoon snacks and parental pick-up. Doors close at 5:30PM.
