Walking with IntentionWalk for Peace - Tuesday, January 13, 2026 Recently my attention has been drawn to a group of Buddhist Monks who are traveling on foot with the intention to promote peace, loving kindness and compassion across America. Their approximately 2300 mile Walk for Peace began on October 26, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas and as I write this they are currently walking through South Carolina. They are expected to arrive at the steps of our nation’s capitol on February 13, 2026. Several things have drawn me into their journey. I do admit I love a story with a faithful dog, so watching Aloka, the Peace Dog walk alongside the monks brings me joy. But, mostly the fact that so many are paying attention has lightened my soul at a time where anger and division has become more normal than love and acceptance. First Quarter Community Partner AnnouncedPhilip's Cupboard To Receive a Tithe of Broadway's Offerings From January through March Broadway will financially support Philip's Cupboard with a 10% donation from the offerings we collect. This means that whatever you give to the church during these next three months will be tithed and used to restock needed cleaning and hygiene supplies for our neighbors. If you are more inclined to want to bring a tangible donation, they are in need of baby wipes, size 6 diapers, and laundry detergent. We understand that Dollar Tree has detergent in a blue bottle for $1.50! Thank you for your help, as we support our neighbors. |

As we begin raising money to get the clock running, we’re taking advantage of the timelessness of the moment with a good ‘ol fashioned Sock Hop! So brush off your poodle skirts and grease back your hair as we head back to the future to save the clock tower! Mark your calendars for April 17th in the Broadway Basement. Be there or be square! Lenten Spiritual RetreatSaturday, February 21, 2026 9am-1 PM on Saturday, February 21 (coffee/gather starts at 8:30 AM) Lent is a season that makes space for self-reflection, simplicity, and honesty. It’s a time to examine our habits and spiritual disciplines and engage with God through the lens of our own “wilderness” experiences. We’ll encounter God through imaginative reading of scripture, prayer through art, contemplative silence, and more. No experience necessary - only an open mind and heart! Contact Aliyah at aliyah@broadwayunitedmethodist.com to RSVP by February 15 For more infomation visit:
